Microsoft has made it clear that upgrading to Windows 11 will be free for all computers with a genuine Windows 10 license. Its new graphical interface and functions have aroused the interest of many users, but its official launch could take place next October. However, there is a way to officially test the promising next-generation operating system in advance.
When Windows 11 launched, users of Windows 10 will be able to download and install it in a almost transparent via Windows Update, but as this is not yet available it is necessary to resort to an alternative, but official method. It will be through Windows Insider, a Microsoft program that offers its operating systems before they hit the market with the idea that testers provide feedback directly to them.
Through the program it is possible to download the Windows 11 Insider Preview first build. Although it is a development version, it is possible to try some of the new functions right now, such as the new graphical interface inspired by the language Fluent Design, widgets, the new Microsoft Store and much more. That way, as it is not the final system, it can still contain errors that affect the user experience.
Installing Windows 11 Insider Preview
The first step before venturing to try to get Windows 11 Insider Preview is to check if the computer meets the system requirements, which include 8th generation or later Intel processors and AMD Zen 2 or later, as well as TPM 2.0. It should be noted that Microsoft retired the automatic PC Health Check requirements check tool.
Then it’s time to join the Insider Preview Program. To do this, enter Setting > Update and security > Windows Insider Program, Click on Begin and follow the instructions and choose which compilation you want to get. In this case, Windows 11 will arrive in the development channel, so that option should be chosen. Review the privacy terms, confirm and restart the computer.
At this point it will be necessary to review additional settings for Windows 11 to download successfully. Get in Setting > Privacy > Diagnosis and feedback and make sure that Diagnostic data is on. Now is the most awaited moment. Get in Setting > Update and security > Windows update to get the new system in preview.
Windows should display a notification that Windows 11 Insider Preview is now available for download. It just remains to touch Download and follow the instructions for installation. Again, this is an unfinished version of the system that should only be installed on secondary computers, as it may contain bugs.
