As of Nov. 9, fans have booked accommodation in more than 90,000 rooms, tents, apartments and villas on each of the busiest days of the World Cup in Qatar, organizers said Wednesday, adding that at least 25,000 rooms are still available.
“The market is still open and (fans) have enough time to decide and book,” said Omar Al-Jaber, general director of accommodation at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), organizer of the tournament which starts in a few days.
“The market is still open and (fans) have enough time to decide and book,” said Omar Al-Jaber, general director of accommodation at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), organizer of the tournament which starts in a few days.
Al-Jaber spoke in a giant tent that will serve as one of seven dining rooms for a fan village set up on a highway-bounded stretch of desert south of the capital, Doha.
For $200 a night, fans can rent one of 6,000 brightly painted aluminum cabanas, arranged in long, straight rows. There is a supermarket and outdoor screens to watch the games.
