How to know where my Afore is
You can locate your Afore in a simple way, by calling toll free the number that the Retirement Savings System (SAR) enabled: 5513285000. There you should ask where your Afore is, but it is important that you have at hand the data such as CURP, RFC and Social Security Number.
Another way to find out which Afore is managing your savings is by entering to the e-SAR site and choose, in the main menu, the option Locate your Afore. In the same way, it is essential that you have your Social Security Number (SSN) and your CURP at hand, as well as an email account, to receive information.
Finally, the third way to locate your Afore is by downloading the Afore Móvil application on your cell phone. This will not only help you locate the institution that manages your retirement savings, but also serves to consult and update data and make voluntary contributions. Remember that voluntary savings is very important to achieve a decent pension.
Now, if you have already located the Afore where your resources are, you can call by phone to request that they send you your account statements, among other types of information. You should also know that if you do not like the Afore that was assigned to you, you have the right to change once a year or even less, as long as it is to transfer to one with better performance. In this Consar website You can find the telephone numbers of the various Afores that exist in Mexico.
What do I do if my Afore does not appear or is at zero?
There are very specific cases, where people find a part of their account statement in zeros. The majority corresponds to the SAR IMSS 1992 and SAR Infonavit 1992 items. This happens because, by official provision, since December 2000, the resources of the period from 1992 to 1997 and which were managed by the banks, but were never unified in an Afore, were transferred to a concentration account. However, it is possible to recover these savings and unify them to an Afore account in the applicant’s name.
To do so, you must request the “SAR 92-97 transfer request” from your Afore and sign it, in addition to providing the following documentation:
1. Official identification.
2. At least two of the following documents: Forms SAR-02, SAR-03, SAR-04, account statement or any document issued by the bank that managed the SAR 92 account (if you had several employers at this stage, present a receipt for each employer).
3. RFC certificate issued by the Tax Administration Service (SAT).
4. Birth Certificate.
5. Any document issued by the IMSS where your full name and your Social Security Number appear.
Before starting this procedure, the Afore must integrate your identification file with your biometric signature (fingerprints), a photograph, an official identification and proof of address.
