After multiple leaks and rumors, Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Vanguard is a reality. After the reveal of the game in Warzone, surely you still have a couple of doubts about this new title in the series. Fortunately, last week we had the opportunity to attend a presentation of the new work of Sledgehammer Games, and here we tell you everything you need to know about this title. To begin, it has been confirmed that Vanguard will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC, via Battle.net, on November 5. That’s right, in just a couple of months you will be able to enjoy this title on your preferred platform. This installment will take us back to World War II, although this game will not be related to WWII, where we will see the birth of the Special Forces, a group of soldiers who will need to infiltrate enemy lines, in order to stop the Project Phoenix The narrative begins the night before the fateful D-Day, where our protagonists realize that the mission is not as simple as it seems.
The cinematics that I got to see was impressive. The chaos and action that characterize the series so much is present. However, Sledgehammer did not want to stick with the known, and they have gone to great lengths to create a campaign that could well be considered a blockbuster. It will not have a revisionist look, but it will have a contemporary context. Similarly, the focus will not be all the time on the great battles that were fought in this war, but we will also be able to see the civilian side, and experience some of the events that took place between the lines. For this, a series of main characters have been created that, although they are completely original, has a strong inspiration in some of the most important soldiers and generals of this period, whom we will get to know throughout four main scenarios . This installment uses the graphics engine that we saw in Call of Duty: Warzone, so you can expect a high-level visual spectacle, a photorealistic world and characters, as well as top-notch performance. In the case of next-gen consoles, you can expect a stable 60fps.
Now, one of the most important points of any Call of Duty, is the multiplayer, and in Vanguard we can expect a fairly refined experience. To start, 20 maps will be available day one. Of these, 16 are 6v6, and 4 will be 4v4. All scenarios react to damage from combat, and this is a visual element that is not only reflected, but will have an impact on gameplay. As if that were not enough, you will have the opportunity to choose the rhythm of each game. First we have the standard, which will offer the classic experience of the series. Then we find tactical, where the time of each game can be modified. Lastly, we have blitz, here the focus is to put as many players as possible in a single scenario. Fortunately, this is not all, as we will also have access to a new game mode. Champion Hill is the new big attraction in multiplayer. Here you have the opportunity to be part of one of the eight teams that will enter multiple zones, although it is also possible to go alone. Each game lasts one minute, and at the end of a certain time, the group with the most deaths and zones in its favor will be crowned the champion. Between fights it will be possible to access a shop, in order to improve the equipment of your choice.
As if that weren’t enough, zombie mode is back. This time, this beloved style of play will be in charge of Treyarch, and it will function as a prequel to the zombie look we saw in Black Ops Cold War. That’s right, the narrative in this section will finally be interconnected with other games in the series. Along with this, we can expect a couple of invocations in this gameplay. Like its predecessor, Vanguard will feature a crossover with Warzone. Raven will continue to be in charge of this battle royale, and this year we will see a map inspired by the new main installment. In this way, this free-to-play title will have weapons and content that we can find in Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard. For everyone who cares about cheats, this update will feature a new anti-cheat system.
Best of all, both Warzone and Vanguard will offer a series of free additional content, where we can look forward to new maps, limited-time and seasonal events, as well as community celebrations. All of this starting at the end of the year. Remember, Call of Duty: Vanguard will come to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC on November 5, 2021. On related issues, an analyst points out that this new installment will be the best-selling game of this year .
