The new plant that will be established in the southeast of Mexico will follow the solid sustainability principles of the Meoqui factory, located in Chihuahua. The plant will operate under a strict waste reduction policy and will use sustainable energy sources.
This strategic step by Heineken in the Mexican southeast follows the precedent of Constellation Brands, which after canceling the construction of its factory in Mexicali due to criticism related to the water crisis in the north of the country, opted to establish its plant in Veracruz .
The announcement of this new construction occurs five years after the inauguration of the plant in Meoqui, Chihuahua, which required an investment of 500 million dollars.
This new brewing plant will be added to the list of Heineken facilities in Orizaba, Monterrey, Tecate, Navojoa, Guadalajara, Toluca and Chihuahua.
Globally, Heineken operates 170 breweries and employs a total of 85,000 people, with 18,000 of them working in Mexico.
