343 Industries is investigating why Halo Infinite is downloading extra data. According to some players, up to 1 GB of additional mysterious data is downloaded at the end of each multiplayer match. Although the cause of the extra data is unknown, players report that the game downloads between 300MB and 900MB of data after each multiplayer match, unintentionally sucking up data from those with usage limits.

Although the improvement announcement for this issue was made in the August update, not everyone is happy to wait until August for a fix. Some players have claimed that this is not a sufficient solution and that the game is becoming unplayable for those people who cannot cover the cost of the data that Halo Infinite occupies, so they believe it is necessary that the solution arrives soon before the situation worsens.
