Last week, a report by Bloomberg revealed new details about the work environment at Rockstar Games, and shared more information about GTA VI. Although at the moment there is no official information, it has been mentioned that the next installment in the series will feature a Latina co-star. Although one might think that this is something completely new for the series, the history of Grand Theft Auto shows us otherwise.
Specifically, there are three cases where an official GTA game had a female protagonist. The first of this is the original Grand Theft Auto from 1997. Here, all players have the opportunity to choose between several characters, including four women: Divine, Mikki, Katie, and Ulrika.
The second is gta II, but in his Game Boy Color version, where it is possible to take the role of Candy and Gretchen. However, nobody remembers these cases because the first two titles in the series did not take into consideration the character of your choice. Along with this, the top-down perspective did not allow to create any distinction between the models.
The last case was in GTA Online, where this section of GTA V allows us to choose a female character for our adventure. Here we see a series of dialogues that reflect our decision, but at the end of the day there is nothing substantial that manages to reflect that we are playing as a woman.
Yes ok GTA VI It will not be the first game that, technically, will have a woman as the protagonist, yes it would be the first to give it a real personality. In related topics, here you can learn more about this report. Similarly, it seems that remasters of GTA IV Y Red Dead Redemption they were cancelled.
Editor’s note:
It will be interesting to see what kind of protagonist Rockstar offers us with GTA VI. While we can expect a number of differences from previous games, there is also the possibility that we will be given the opportunity to take control of a horrible person, something that would continue with what was seen in the entire series.
