If we do a search on Google, the usual thing is that it returns all kinds of results. However, it is possible that sometimes we prefer to block certain content or obtain only those that really interest us. It is precisely for the latter that the search engine has just been updated with a new tool.
This is the ‘Personal Results’ option, which, as its name suggests, has the function to show us custom results based on the information Google has about us. Next, we will tell you how to easily and quickly activate that setting, or, failing that, how to deactivate it.
How to activate personal results
Google has updated its search tool with a new option that allows us, as we said, to see in the search results based on your Google account data. You can easily activate or deactivate it by following these steps:
Enter Google search through Discover or the Google app and click on your profile image, in the upper right corner.
In the drop down menu, select ‘Settings’.
Once inside the Settings, look for the option ‘Personal results’ and tap on it.
On the new page, simply enable or disable the option ‘Show personal results’.
And what are the consequences of activating this option? As Google explains on that same page, having personal results activated, predictions will autocomplete search history so you can pick up where you left off.
You’ll also get personalized responses based on your Google account information, like “my flights” in the Gmail tray or “directions to go home” from Google Maps. It will also show you recommendations based on your activity, such as restaurants if we write “where to eat” or programs / movies if we write “what to see”.
