The world of entertainment is in mourning after the sensitive death of Gilbert Gottfriedcomedian and American voice actor, who lost his life today, Tuesday, April 12, after having suffered from multiple complications caused by muscular dystrophy at 67 years of age.
The news was released today thanks to the actor’s family, and was later confirmed by his publicist through a statement addressed to The Washington Post. Via social networks, his relatives wrote the following:
“It breaks our hearts to announce the news of the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being one of the most iconic voices in comedy, Gilbert was an incredible husband, brother, friend, and father to his two children. Although today was a very sad day for all of us, please continue to laugh in honor of Gilbert.”
Gottfried He was recognized for being a comedian with a rather black humor, and at times, even politically incorrect. Additionally, he lent his voice to different characters in the animation including Iago, the parakeet that we saw in Aladdin, Digitthe robotic bird of cyber chase and the duck aflack for some commercials of an insurance company.
Rest in peace, Gilbert Gottfried.
