“It is an international brand that is undergoing a successful expansion process. This announcement represents one of the challenges that the brand had outlined, since Mexico is an important marketwith a mature and growing automotive base,” said Tony Chi, deputy general manager of Geely International and general manager of Geely Mexico, quoted in the statement.
According to the China Automobile Association (CAAM), Geely Holdings is the eighth largest Chinese automaker, In addition to being the parent of brands such as Volvo and 30 others.
Great Wall Automobile, the last brand in the list of the 10 largest manufacturers indicated by the CAAM, is another brand that would be reaching the Mexican market in the near future, as has been done by Chirey, Omoda, BYD, among others.
