The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, promulgated the unpopular law on the pension reform that delays the retirement age and extends the requirement of years of contributions, according to the Official Gazette on Saturday.
The law had received on Friday the validation of the Constitutional Council but the unions had urged the president not to enact it as “the only way to calm the anger expressed in the country.”
