If you use Twitter, it is very likely that you have seen in the ‘For you’ section a lot of Elon Musk tweets, even if you don’t follow him. You’re not alone. Many users have noticed that his recommendation feed has been filled with publications from the tycoon, including responses that he himself has made to other tweets.
The ‘For you’ section of Twitter, let’s remember, is intended to offer recommended content for the user based on their interests, and on many occasions, tweets from accounts that they do not follow are even shown, as the Twitter algorithm believes that they could be relevant.
The case of Elon Musk, however, is different, because many people have not only seen a couple of tweets from the tycoon, but dozens and dozens of answers; most little or nothing important.
In my case, I have also seen how the ‘For you’ section of my account has been flooded with tweets and responses from the also CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. The number of Musk posts the algorithm was showing in my feed, plus, It is considerably higher than what I normally see from other users with whom I even have more interaction.
Elon Musk even fired an engineer on Twitter because his tweets were not showing
Interestingly, Elon Musk’s wave of tweets in the ‘For You’ section comes just days after he publicly warned of a bug in the ‘Following’ tab Fanout Service. Ruling that, according to the director himself, caused up to 95% of his tweets to not be “delivered”.
Musk assured that the error was already fixed, even even fired an engineer for this problem, despite the fact that the worker, along with his colleague, stated that the algorithm was not hiding the content of his tweets. They also stressed that it could simply be because the tycoon has ceased to have great public interest.
Elon Musk, for the moment, has not mentioned anything about it, beyond a meme related to the massive appearance of tweets. In any case, it is very likely that it is a bug and that it will be fixed in the next few days.
