The franchise of Castlevania it is enjoying a lot of popularity lately. The animated series of Netflix had a lot to do with this, but we can’t forget about releases like Castlevania Advance Collection and Castlevania Anniversary Collection, They have introduced new players to some of the best games in the franchise. However, despite all this, we have not had a new installment of the saga since Lords of Shadow 2 in 2014.
Yota Tsutsumizaki, who directed the spin-off for cell phones, Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, spoke with Axios on the future of the franchise, and if there would be any possibility of having a new installment of this beloved series. Here is his answer.
“A new installment? Well, it depends on what our users say. “
Basically Tsutsumizaki says we must raise our voices if we want more games of Castlevania. But at the same time, it’s easy to understand why Konami does not want to continue with the saga; Lords of shadow 2 it was a failure with criticism. Further, Tsutsumizaki explained why it is so difficult to create a new game of Castlevania:
“It’s not my place to talk about the company’s business, but in general, it is often very difficult to launch games from such a long-lived franchise on a regular basis.”
Added that Castlevania it has taken “too many risks” since the launch of the multiplayer spin-off Harmony of Despair since 2010, and referred to Grimoire of Souls as an effort to keep the saga relevant in modern times.
