The afternoon of this Thursday, September 9, 2021, The health authorities shared the daily technical report on the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the country. In that sense, they confirmed the existence of 3,479,999 confirmed cases accumulated, as well as 266,150 unfortunate deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.
In that sense, according to the figures, in the last 24 hours 14,828 new people reported the symptomatic picture related to COVID-19 disease and tested positive. Similarly, there were 730 new deaths in the last day.
Regarding confirmed deaths, the authorities reported that in the distribution by sex, deaths in men predominate with 62%. Similarly, the median age is 64 years. What’s more, the mortality rate in epidemiological week number 34 has remained below that reported in the immediately previous period, as well as lower than the maximum peak in the first wave.
On the other hand, it is estimated that as of today there are 99,630 people who had symptoms related to the disease of COVID-19 in the last 14 days. In this way, the entities with the highest number of active cases for every 100,000 inhabitants are Tabasco, Colima, Mexico City, Querétaro and Yucatán. While, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Baja California, Sinaloa and the State of Mexico have the lowest rates, respectively.
On the fifth day of the current epidemiological week, authorities reported an estimated 3,691,952 cases. Secondly, there are already 2,819,991 patients who have recovered and received medical discharge after having had any symptoms related to the disease.
To this day, 10,104,334 people have been notified to the National Epidemiological Surveillance System. Of the total number of screening tests applied, 6,122,265 have given a negative result. In addition, the number of positives could increase in the next few hours due to the estimated existence of 502,070 total suspected cases.
In the general care beds at the national level, the authorities confirmed that 13 entities reported more than half of their hospital occupancy until September 8. In addition, 11 entities appear on the occupancy list between 30% and 49 percent. Meanwhile, eight states have rates below 29 percent. The five entities with the largest number of beds available are Chihuahua, Baja California Sur, Chiapas, Yucatán and Campeche.
On the other hand, in beds equipped with ventilation support, that is, for the care of intensive therapy patients, it was confirmed that Colima (64.70%), Tabasco (55.37%), Jalisco (52.65%) and Veracruz (51.84%) are the only states with occupancy greater than 50 percent. Seventeen states are in the group with occupancy between 30% and 49 percent, while 12 states are below 29% occupancy. Quintana Roo, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas and Guanajuato are the states with the highest availability.
According to the information disseminated through the Twitter profile of Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, 871,836 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered on September 8. With this, since the beginning of the campaign, 89,500,945 injections of any of the biologicals approved by the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) have been taken to counteract the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
