Selection of Colombia defeated this Thursday Chile 3-1 with two goals from Miguel Ángel Borja and equaled Ecuador’s 13 points on matchday 10 of the South American qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Borja converted in the 9th minute a penalty awarded by the Uruguayan referee Andrés Cunha. A minute later, in the 20th, while the celebration for the opening of the scoreboard was still in the stands of the Metropolitano, a filtered pass from Rafael Santos Borré left Borja alone to define at will.
In the first half, Chile came out on the playing field ready to fix the situation that has those led by Martín Lasarte in crisis and with a more aggressive attitude achieved the discount in the 56th minute with a goal marked by Jean Meneses. But it was pure illusion.
In minute 74 Luis Fernando Diaz he got the goal that defined the game with the victory for the local that reached Ecuador in the table with the same 13 points occupying fifth place and in the playoff zone.
Colombia will visit Uruguay in Montevideo on October 7. Chile, eighth with 7 points, will have to go to Lima that same day to face Peru.
