By not explaining the origin of more than 11 million pesos and increasing its patrimony unjustifiably, the Chamber of Deputies, erected as a jury of origin, approved to withdraw the constitutional jurisdiction from federal deputy Mauricio Toledo this Wednesday, with 381 votes in favor, 24 in against and 37 abstentions; however, the legislator is no longer in Mexico, but in Chile.
On January 25, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, requested a declaration of provenance (violation) against the deputy for the Labor Party (PT), because according to their investigations there is no congruence between what he earned as a public servant and what is posted to your bank accounts.
In the endorsed opinion it is mentioned that from October 2012 to 2018, being a local deputy and delegate in Coyoacán, Mauricio Toledo had deposits in his bank accounts for 20 million 826 thousand 611 pesos, when his net remuneration for his public positions in that same period – They were for 9 million 496 thousand 624 pesos, which “is not consistent, since there is a difference of 11 million 419 thousand 987 pesos that he did not declare.”
“Using the public offices he held from 2012 to 2018, increased his equity unjustifiably and inexplicably by not coinciding with his income received for concepts of fees and emoluments. Increases whose illegitimate origin cannot be proven, since, from his own statements of financial situation, both the salary he received for the charges and what he received in an extraordinary way in bank deposits is established, “said Rafael Chong, of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Mexico City.

In the allegations phase, in his capacity as a complainant, he commented that a notorious increase was demonstrated in the assets of the deputy with respect to what he should have by virtue of his salaries during his positions as a legislator in the former Legislative Assembly of the Federal District and delegate in Coyoacán.
He recalled that a report from the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) established that Toledo in 2017 received 3.4 million pesos of the Lebrija Business Management Consulting company when in 2016 it reported 0 pesos, so it did not have the resources to make said payment.
Mauricio Toledo’s lawyer, Epigmenio Mendieta, accused Pablo Gómez, president of the Examining Section of the Chamber of Deputies, of using the Examining Section as a pressure mechanism against “a political adversary” by saying that the morenista was ” it has been characterized by omitting the formalities, violating the times and breaching the agreements ”.
He insisted on saying that the intention to remove the constitutional jurisdiction of the PT deputy is “a political revenge” and added that the process against his client began “from a rivalry for political spaces in Coyoacán in the districts where he has competed Pablo Gómez and other characters; that is to say, they are political rivals ”.

In his turn, the deputy Pablo Gómez criticized the accusations of Toledo’s defense by saying that the lawyer does not explain the way, place and time of the supposed rivalry between him and the PT.
“I never had a political relationship with that person, neither good nor bad. Nor did I request a procedure when I was in charge of the local administration ”, he mentioned.
Deputy Benjamin Robles Montoya, along with eight other legislators from the PT, said that they oppose Toledo’s violation not because of his “innocence or guilt”, but because of the messiness of the process to withdraw constitutional protection from his benchmate.
He assured that this case will not cause the rupture between the PT and Morena so they will continue together in the Fourth Transformation, but they announced that they would withdraw from the session, since they considered that this was “something very close to a circus.”
In the afternoon, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City accused that the deputy Mauricio Toledo fled the country and is already in Chile, for which he asked him to return to face the judicial authority.
“The immigration authorities inform us, the deputy Mauricio Toledo left a few days ago, on July 26, the national territory bound for the Republic of Chile (…) Therefore we call on him to return immediately to the country and present himself before the judicial authority. An honest public servant does not flee or hide, ”reported Rafael Chong, representative of the CDMX Attorney General’s Office.

A few hours ago, Mauricio Toledo clarified that he is in Chile, due to “commitments made in advance”, not because he has fled as the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office pointed out.
