The agreement aims to “optimize the use of existing gas pipelines” and will put an end to a series of legal disputes about which no further information was given.
CFE will have a strategic alliance with a private company. The state company has signed a new memorandum of understanding with the company Esentia Energy to develop natural gas infrastructure. He agreement would involve investments of approximately 300 million dollars, according to a statement published by the national electricity company this afternoon.
The signing of the memorandum joins a series of agreements and strategic alliances made in recent months by the state company with private companies, such as Canada’s TC Energía or Carso Energy.
“The agreement strengthens the strategic relationship between CFE and Esentia by optimizing the use of existing gas pipelines and including new natural gas delivery points to serve CFE’s power plants,” the statement read. As part of the agreement, the companies will also end a number of pre-existing legal disputes, which they did not elaborate on.
