The publication that was made this Friday, March 25, has not been answered by the customer service account of the Bodega Aurrerá company. To date, it is unknown if the brand requested permission to use said sound to carry out this type of activation.
There are many sounds that have become popular in Mexico City that seem to belong to the public domain, but no, each one of them has authorship as is the case of the voice of the old iron.
This song was recorded on a cassette by Marco Antonio Terrón Aguilar in 2005, when it occurred to him to use the voice of his daughter, then 10 years old, to capture the sound that he had previously only replicated out loud. The sound became popular, to the extent that it has appeared in movies like Cindy la Regia and even in various Netflix series.
Although it is not public knowledge, the voice of old irons is already registered in INDAUTOR and also has a commercial notice registry in the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property since January 14, 2022.
This only reflects the opinion of the consumer and the conversation that it generates in the digital pulse, Therefore, Merca 2.0 requested the position of the brand in order to tell both versions of the story.; however, so far it has not been received. The note will be updated in case of a response.
