The Southeast Airport Group (ASUR) reported that it canceled 66 flights, 33 arrivals and 33 departures from the Cancun International Airport due to the arrival of Hurricane Grace.
In a statement, ASUR said that the decision was due to the weather conditions caused by the presence of Hurricane Grace in the Caribbean and its possible impact on the state of Quintana Roo.

“The general population is asked that if they have a flight scheduled for today, Wednesday, August 18, and tomorrow, Thursday, August 19, to contact their airline to check the status of their flight. In the event of any cancellation, they are asked DO NOT GO to the airport, since it is not considered a refuge area for these hydrometeorological phenomena ”, ASUR warned.
ASUR pointed out that the Cancun Airport will remain open, “as long as the weather conditions allow any aircraft to operate safely, in accordance with our Emergency Plan.”
