He Apple Watch Series 9 it’s official. The new Apple smartwatch has been presented at the event wonderlust of the iPhone 15 and, as expected, it arrives with fewer new features than models from previous years.
This does not mean that the device does not bring important improvements. Apple has decided that the Watch Series 9 maintains the format of the 2022 version, although with a slight modification in the color section. The smartwatch is now available in pink, in its variant with an aluminum case.
The main change that the Apple Watch Series 9 boasts is inside. The watch arrives with a new S9 chip, which unlike previous years does not imply a mere change in nomenclature. The hardware in question – which is supposedly based on the A15 Bionic of the iPhone 13 – not only promises better performance, but also greater efficiency in energy consumption.
According to Apple, the smartwatch’s new processor includes a GPU that is 30% more powerful than previous hardware. This allows for faster browsing and better rendering of watchOS 10 animations.
Another notable change is in the screen of the Apple Watch Series 9, which now reaches a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. That is, double that of the Series 8. In addition, the panel brightness can drop to only 1 nit. In addition, Apple has improved the integration with Siri on the Watch Series 9. From now on, queries to the virtual assistant are processed internally, and it is also integrated with health data.
Apple Watch Series 9 can now be controlled without touching the screen
But that is not all. Those from Cupertino also introduced a new type of gesture to control the Apple Watch Series 9. It is Double Tapor “double tap”, which allows actions to be performed by touching the pads of the index fingers and thumb of the hand where the watch is worn.
