Apple has released a new update to iOS 14. iOS 14.8 does not include any important news, beyond security patches that fix different vulnerabilities . The new version, however, could be the last to reach the operating system announced last year.
Specifically, the update fixes different vulnerabilities of CoreGraphics and WebKit that, according to company information, could have been actively exploited. The patch notes indicate that this is a recommended update for all users, as the version improves the security of the device. Users can update to iOS 14.8 via Settings> General> Software update. The weight varies depending on the device, but is around 400 MB.
With this latest update to iOS 14, Apple prepares for the arrival of iOS 15, the new version of the operating system for the iPhone that will include major changes. The company is expected to announce the update date during the iPhone 13 launch event. New in iOS 15 are improvements to FaceTime, a new feature to select text from images or photos, improvements to notifications, new privacy features and more.
This year, all iPhones compatible with iOS 14 will be able to upgrade to iOS 15. Therefore, iOS 14.8 will not be the last update for any supported models. Users with older smartphones, if they wish, can only receive security updates and keep the current version of their operating system.
