Historical extreme poverty in Latin America
Latin America is the region of the world most affected by the Covid pandemic, as it registers the highest levels of extreme poverty in 27 years.
According to a report by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC, the number of people in extreme poverty went from 81 to 86 million between 2020 and 2021.
