Anpec, in a statement, attributed the increase to increases in the price of raw materials such as sugar and the drop in prices in productions of corn, wheat, soybeans and other grains of up to 29%. The association that represents small businesses declares that the bakery’s increases range between 10 and 15% per year.
The last increase in Bimbo products, which includes Tía Rosa, Lonchibon, Sara Lee and Barcel fritters among its brands, was registered on April 19. Then the company raised the price of the line of flour tortillas of the Tía Rosa and Del Hogar brands.
In this list of prices that the company delivered to the stores, only increases are perceived in some of its brands of cookies and sweet bread, in addition to products such as hamburger buns or hot dog halves.
