On weekends we always want to have pizza for dinner, but if we don’t want to order it at home or throw away pre-cooked food, there is a very simple alternative: the bread pizza
This dish is a quick version of traditional pizza, ideal for those weekends in which you fancy something delicious and a little gochete without complicating life in the kitchen. In addition, it is a great way to take advantage of that bread that you have left over and that you do not want to waste.
The bread pizza is prepared with basic ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen: slices of bread, crushed tomato, grated cheese and your favorite topping ingredients.
To start, just lightly toast the slices of bread and then spread the crushed tomato on top. Add the grated cheese and the ingredients that you like the most, such as mushrooms, ham, olives or peppers. Finally, put the slices in the oven for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and golden. And that’s it! Your pan pizza will be ready to gobble up.
Although not the healthiest option in the world, pan pizza is a treat that we can indulge in from time to time, especially if we load it with fresh and varied ingredients. Also, by using bread instead of a traditional pizza crust, we can control portion sizes and reduce caloric intake.

This recipe offers multiple possibilities. You can opt for a whole grain or cereal bread to provide more fiber, or even try a gluten-free bread if you follow a specific diet. In addition, the ingredient combinations they are practically endless: from a vegetarian version with spinach and ricotta to a more gourmet bread pizza with prosciutto and arugula.
to culminate this festive dinner, I suggest pairing your bread pizza with a young and fruity red wine, such as a Rioja or Ribera del Duero. You can also opt for a beer if you prefer a more refreshing drink. Take advantage!
