EFE.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador affirmed this Tuesday that he is going to establish a medal for the athletes who obtained fourth place in the last Olympic Games in Tokyo.
“We will receive those who obtained the four medals, but also those who came in fourth place, we are going to establish one more medal because it was almost that they did not obtain it,” said the president at the flag of the Paralympic delegation.
López Obrador referred to the seven Mexican athletes who achieved fourth places in the last summer fair, where Mexico obtained four bronze medals.

López Obrador assured the Paralympic athletes that upon their return from their participation in the Tokyo Games they will meet again to recognize the effort, not only of them, but also that of their work teams.
“When they return we are going to meet again because everyone is going to have a recognition. We are going to wait for you with the colleagues who have already participated in the Olympics. We are also going to give recognition to their coaches and doctors ”, he announced.

Parathlete Rosa María Guerrero, discus thrower, spoke on behalf of the athletes who will represent Mexico and promised to give back with dedication to all the support received for their participation.
“Thank you because we know of the great support that is being given to the sport of Mexico, that they have sought the mechanisms to ensure that they give us stimuli to continue our preparation, which will allow us to obtain the best results,” said the athlete.
Parathletes Amalia Pérez and Diego López were the standard bearers of the Mexican delegation, they received the national flag at the hands of the president.

Present at the flag ceremony were the head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum; Ana Gabriela Guevara, head of the Conade; General Luis Cresencio Sandoval, Secretary of National Defense.
Yasushi Takase, Japanese ambassador to Mexico, and parathletes Rosa María Guerrero and José de Jesús Castillo also participated.
