Twitter recently changed the size of photos in the feed, so that they are bigger and protagonists within it. It seems that the thing has not been here and is that the social network is already testing a new format.
Specific, Twitter wants to look like Instagram, although with the advantage that in this social network there is hardly any compression and we can upload the photographs in 4K. The new feed is being tested first on iOS, although it should eventually make its way to Android as well when it starts rolling out on a stable basis.
Twitter wants its feed to be more Instagram
Now testing on iOS:

Twitter has shown the changes it wants to reach the feed, first on iOS, showing some of the photographs of the best known photographers worldwide, such as Brandon Woelfel. In the video you have shown, you can see how photos will become full size, a format they call “Edge to Edge” and which is the same as that found in apps like Instagram.
This format would not only apply to photographs, but also to videos and GIFs. The idea here is to make multimedia content more prominent in the feed. In principle, this is being tested on a small group of users on iOS, although it aims to be the next big change in the Twitter feed.
Being an experimental function, there is no closed date for your arrival. We may end up seeing it before the end of the year, although nothing is fixed yet. It remains to be seen if the change works and does not happen as with the Fleets, the failed attempt to copy the Instagram stories that ended up closing after a few months.
