Today, October 25, there will be a special presentation of Age of Empires. Although exactly what we will see at this event is unknown at the moment, it seems that one of the big planned announcements has already been leaked. According to PEGI and the ESRB, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition would be coming to Xbox consoles. Earlier today, ratings organizations in the United States and Europe revealed that Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition would be coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S today, October 25. Although at the moment there is no official information from Xbox, considering that in a couple of hours we will have a special presentation, this revelation could well come true. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition came to PC in 2019, and is a remaster of the 1999 game, featuring significantly improved graphics, support for 4K resolution, and all previously released expansions. As if that were not enough, it was previously announced that Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition will be available today on Steam and the Microsoft Store. This is a version that includes all the expansions that this title has received since its release last year, and owners of this title will be able to get this update for free. The Age of Empires special presentation will take place today, October 25, at 12:00 PM (Mexico City time). In related topics, here you can check our Age of Empires IV review.
Editor’s Note: Considering the Xbox Series X|S can run Microsoft Flight Simulator, the arrival of Age of Empires II on these consoles shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. It will be interesting to see how this experience works with a controller, though at the end of the day, keyboard and mouse are the preferred options.
