In this way, the airline will go from having nine to 13 destinations in the AIFA, with which it estimates that, by the end of the year, it will have 60% of the flights at the airport, with an offer of more than 120,000 seats per month.
Aeroméxico’s adjustment follows several adjustments that have been announced in recent weeks at the AICM.
Although the airline was looking to occupy the Interjet counters in Terminal 1, on August 3 it announced that it would only operate in Terminal 2 from the first day of September. This involved moving around 60 operations.
In addition, last week a second cut in the top of operations per hour was announced at the AICM, which will imply a 17% reduction in flights. If a criterion of making greater cuts is applied to airlines that have more landing and takeoff times – as occurred in a first cut made a year ago – the measure will mainly affect Aeroméxico.
