Fans around the world have filled 17 million ticket applications for the 2022 Qatar World Cup during the first sales period, which lasted 20 days, FIFA reported on Tuesday.
The largest number of requests comes from residents in the organized countryr, although requests from Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, France, India, England and Mexico also stand out.
The most popular seats, according to FIFA, were those for the December 18 final at the Lusail Stadium, with a total of 1.8 million applications received.
After this first sales period, which began on January 19 and ended at 10:00 GMT on Tuesday, the FIFA Ticket Management Department will verify that the requests comply with the purchase restrictions -both individual and family unit- before awarding tickets.
all applicants will receive a communication from March 8in which they will be informed if their request has been partially or totally accepted, or has been rejected, and will provide both the instructions to be followed and the deadline for paying the assigned tickets.
Depending on the remaining availability, the Ticket Management Department will inform you of the dates of the next ticket sales period, in which they will be assigned in strict order of application.
