“In the last few hours, they located a footprint on the muddy ground that, due to its size, would apparently belong to Lesly, the 13-year-old girl,” the Military Forces reported in a statement.
About 1.2 kilometers south of the footprint “we found a kind of resting place (refuge). It was very surely used by the minors for one or two nights,” General Pedro Sánchez explained in an interview with the Blu Radio network.
“At some point we have come across (with the children). Units have been in that area, it is not that we are going after them” but rather that search operations are organized from different geographical points to surround the area, he added.
The girl Lesly Mukutuy and her brothers Soleiny Mukutuy, 9 years old; Tien Noriel Ronoque Mukutuy, 4 years old, and baby Cristin Neriman Ronoque Mukutuy, who turned one year old on May 26, have been missing for a month after the Cessna 206 plane crash in which they were traveling with three adults who perished, including the pilot.
The bodies of the three adults were found by the army at the accident site, but the minors have not yet been located.
The information added that to corroborate “if it was an indication belonging to one of the four disappeared children, (the military) made a footprint of one of the size 40 uniformed men and the difference is evident.”
