RTVE and Shine Iberia have presented the new season of MasterChef that is about to land on the La 1 grid: it is number 12 with contestants from the common people, the 34th if we count all the contest formats.
On the set of the program, Miriam García Corrales, Director of Entertainment at RTVE, has assured that this version of MasterChef, without celebrities, is “the star format”, because it is “fun, it is entertainment, it is valuing effort, camaraderie and diversity, and for everything it teaches about tolerance, overcoming limitations and healthy eating.”
We don't know if it's camaraderie, but diversity is certainly guaranteed with a casting that, once again, has been massive. There were many characters from which to choose the 15 contestants among whom, it has been anticipated, we will find:
- Mónica Naranjo's guitarist.
- A Spanish-Moroccan jeweler.
- A real estate agent who recorded videos cooking in the houses he sells
- A mother of a large family with six children.
- A culinary student who saw his dream of cooking in the army cut short when he was classified as “unfit” due to his diabetes.
- An aerospace engineer who raises goats.
- A drum-loving talent scout.
- A former flat-earther legionnaire who calls himself “a library with legs.”
- The director of a diet cooking company, who worked for Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth, a Saudi princess and the English royal family.
