We leave you five series that reinvented some of the great sagas owned by Disney. From a group of men fighting a galactic empire with few tools, to the infinite possibilities of the multiverse. There is a whole journey through the great pop mythologies, which, perhaps, you had not rethought yourself as a rediscovery of its most intriguing aspects.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Star Wars has always delved into its characters from an emotional side and with enormous interest in their internal debates. But few productions in the saga have shown what happens in the gray areas in which curious characters must move. Star Wars: The Bad Batch is one of them and also, the demonstration that The vast universe imagined by George Lucas can always expand in different and quality directions.
The series tells the story of what happens to a squad of elite clones, who despite their apparent obedience to the galactic empire, will confront it. Much more so, as it becomes obvious that the manipulating fist of central power has every intention of destroying all resistance. The anime is a reflection on moral responsibility and at the same time, of the anonymous deeds of characters of enormous nobility.
With a third — final — season released, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an exciting reminder that the saga from which it comes will always have something new to tell. Much more, showing that his heroes come from doing the right thing in complicated circumstances.
Andor
The prequel and at the same time spin-off of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is, rightly, a tribute to the anonymous heroes. Set before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope, the production tells the way in which the rebellion against the empire began. Which leads to a tour of all the men and women who battled against dictatorial power from their respective spaces and ethical decisions.
Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) is an expatriate and mercenary, who owes no loyalty to anyone. That is, until he understands that the tentacles of the empire will not only destroy him, but everything he loves. Which will make him make the decision to join the incipient rebels and use all the resources at his disposal to prop up the rebellion.
Sober, elegant and well-told, Andor is one of the best Star Wars products of recent decades. At the same time, it is a moving tribute to everything that the saga can be and represents for its fans. An adult point of view for Space Opera that takes it to completely new dimensions.
Loki
The villain, played by Tom Hiddleston, began his career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a charismatic character. But by 2012, he was the enemy of the Avengers team. The rest has been some more interesting story arcs in pop culture. After surviving death — and more than once — Loki of Asgardcharged with his glorious purpose, became an intriguing figure in Marvel. Especially at a time when the franchise was accused of having weak and unfortunately limited characters.
But it was not until the arrival of his series on Disney+ that Thor's evil brother (Chris Hemsworth) became a hero in his own right. He was already on his way to that, after facing a painful death at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin), in an attempt to stop the massacre of him. However, The production explored spiritual growth in its duality until it took it to a completely new region.
Become the god of stories – and, therefore, of the multiverse – of Marvel, he is currently the most powerful figure in the franchise. Also, the most tragic and beloved. A long road, for a charming trickster convinced he deserved a throne.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Rick Riordan's literary saga came to film in the 2010s and failed. So the story of the demigod seeking his purpose in the modern world seemed to stagnate in the limbo of incomplete productions. Even with two sequels — which went unnoticed at the box office — the franchise seemed to swim in a generic and almost ridiculous vision, about the mythological world on which it is based.
But, this year, the Disney+ series that adapts the first book of five books was a success with audiences and critics. Percy (Walker Scobell) came to the streaming world with a script that did justice to the original narrative and detailed visuals. The result is a twist not only to literary fiction — which would already be a success — but also to the most beloved characters.
With a first season praised by fans and a second in production, the story seems to be extended to a whole new level. A gift for lovers of the epic adventure that the platform keeps in its catalog.
What would happen if…?
The Marvel multiverse has been exploited unevenly and not always successfully in the publisher's cinematic world. But the Disney+ anime, already with two seasons in tow and a third to be released, has done so. Much more, he explored both alternative realities and all the characters that could be born from the infinite possibilities at your disposal.

The result is more than a dozen chapters, which reinvent Marvel in all its aspects. From heroes turning villains and new interpretations of favorite stories, What If? is a delight for fans of the franchise. But much more, for those who seek a different dimension in their worlds and settings. The most valuable thing about its premise.
