The last quarter of this 2022 officially begins and with it, the time of strong releases of the year intensifies very markedly. As expected, we have high profile premieres that we are sure, you do not want to miss anything. The good news is that there is basically something for everyone, so there is no room for complaint. Prepare your portfolio because it is most likely going to suffer a considerable impact. Here we introduce you to the five titles that for us deserve your attention the most and that will be released for different platforms over the next four weeks. We wait for you to tell us which of all of them is the one you are most looking forward to.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
After having marveled at what A Plague Tale: Innocence was, we all wondered if Team Asobo had plans to turn their IP into a franchise with a direct sequel, since said title was left with an open ending that precisely suggested that the story it wasn’t over. Well, despite having their hands full with Microsoft Flight Simulator as well, the developer studio got to work on A Plague Tale: Requiem, a title that, according to what we’ve been shown, will surpass its acclaimed predecessor in all aspects. Its premiere is scheduled for October 18 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, in addition to the fact that if you live in one of the territories in which the service works, you can play it on Nintendo Switch through the cloud.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
That Nintendo lends Mario or in general any of its characters to third parties is something unusual, however, a couple of years ago, it decided to enter into a very close collaboration with Ubisoft to mix the world of its famous plumber, with that of the crazy Rabbids, resulting in an interesting turn-based strategy game that was actually much better than some expected. The commercial success of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle It was not long in coming so this October 20, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will arrive as that sequel exclusively to the Nintendo Switch. Needless to say, what has been shown so far from said title looks extremely good and leaves us almost completely calm that we will be receiving the experience we have been waiting for.
Gotham Knights
What Rocksteady achieved with Batman within video games is something that has definitely gone down in history. After the five games based on this franchise, there was total silence and nothing about what could happen specifically with the dark knight within this medium. A while ago, we learned that Warner Bros. Montreal, who a few years ago took on the fantastic but underrated Batman Arkham Origins, would be the ones raising their hands to continue the legacy. In this way we met Gotham Knights, a title that approaches the series in a different way, but at the same time familiar. What has been shown so far looks good and quite solid, but we continue to doubt the true level of quality that the final product will have, which is scheduled to be released this October 21 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. We cross our fingers that everything goes smoothly because yes, we already need a new Batman game.
Bayonetta 3
Yes, we know. The wait was long and even exasperating. Despite what was thought, Platinum Games did not have the concept of Bayonetta 3 so grounded, so it was undoubtedly announced much earlier than it should have been. The good news here is that all this is finally coming to an end, because the third part of our favorite witch’s adventure will be coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch on October 28, just to celebrate Halloween. Little has been shown of the game, but the truth is that there is not even concern, we are sure that Hideki Kamiya and his team are going to give us a memorable hack & slash of those that make an era and that will surely be talked about for a long time weather. We just can’t wait to get our hands on this game which, if we’re not careful, could even put his name among the Game of the Year contenders.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
New year, new Call of Duty. Yes, we know. Activision’s franchise feels more worn than ever. His lack of new concepts has been reflected in his latest titles, which have simply owed a lot. In fact, we could say that if it weren’t for Warzone, the series would probably be in trouble. Anyway, in this 2022 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be launched to continue with the reinterpretation of the sub saga that caused such a stir in the first decade of the current century. What has been shown so far about its campaign and its multiplayer mode is not very exciting, since it is basically more of the same, however, there is always the possibility that we will be surprised and that the popular FPS will return to old glories. Let’s hope that now that it will be in the hands of Xbox and that it will supposedly take a year off, it can be renewed, because it is urgent. Its launch was agreed for October 28 on both past and current generation consoles, as well as PC.
