February and March were really intense. Basically every week of those months had one or more major releases that left us without time and of course, with a portfolio in poor condition. They say that everything that goes up must come down and undoubtedly April marks the beginning of a considerably quieter season when it comes to video game releases. Of course, this isn’t to say that there won’t be any new games to speak of, there just won’t be as many as the ones we just went through. With the aim that none of the big names pass under your radar, we have prepared a list of five titles you shouldn’t lose track of for the next four weeks. We wait for you to tell us, which of all of them is the one you are most looking forward to?
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
For many and with good reason, the formula of Lego games has been completely stagnant for a long time and with little to offer. Aware of this situation, the people of Traveller’s Tales have decided to turn their way of making games from the famous toy brand and other licenses, completely rethinking its structure. To achieve this, there has been a long and hard development process of what will be Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the most ambitious title by far from the developer studio that, as we already mentioned, promises to change many of the rules that these games they had been using throughout their history. On April 5 we will be able to check if all the promises were fulfilled or not.
MLB The Show 22
Lovers of hot ball will be very happy because in addition to the new season of Major League Baseball finally kicking off, a new game from San Diego Studio’s acclaimed series is coming to all consoles to accompany the excitement. It is important to mention that despite being developed by a PlayStation studio, MLB The Show 22 will also have its Xbox version as it happened last year in a surprising way, in addition to the fact that to top it off, the Nintendo Switch will also receive baseball with its own adaptation. We are completely sure that this April 5, everyone will be very satisfied with the result of this new installment, because we must accept it, we have never been failed with this franchise.
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition
One of the most beloved RPGs of all time will be back with a new version for PS4, Xbox One and Switch this coming April 7. After confirming it in a Nintendo Direct, Square Enix is ready to return us to the world of Chrono Cross with the Radical Dreamers Edition, which, in addition to remastering the classic from the first PlayStation, will have extra content that not many could enjoy at the time. The thing here is that the final result is really up in the air, since the publisher is usually famous for the inconsistency it has when it comes to bringing back its old games if we talk about quality. Let’s cross our fingers that justice is done to this important title that undoubtedly marked more than one.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Yes, we know. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is actually a game that came to us from 2020 on the PlayStation 4, but unfortunately, not many turned to see it despite the enormous prestige of a studio like Vanillaware that continues to be supported by a giant like Atlus. This new work by George Kamitani is simply brilliant and one of the best stories that the medium has told us in a very long time, so we believe that now that it will be coming to the Nintendo Switch this April 12, it is a great opportunity that experience it firsthand if you haven’t on PS4. Truly, it is an adventure that will be etched in your memory forever and will keep a very special place in your heart. Now we just have to wait for this new version to work perfectly.
Nintendo Switch Sports
Do you remember how special the early days with the Nintendo Wii were thanks to the super innovative concept of Wii Sports? Well, it seems that Mario’s company wants to replicate that moment, since Nintendo Switch Sports is confirmed and will arrive on April 29 with the promise of becoming the new center of attention in any meeting we have now that we can see each other much more , besides that of course, it arrives just for Children’s Day. Expectations are pretty high for what can be achieved with this game, as the Joy-Cons have considerably more advanced technology than what could be achieved with the Wii Remote in late 2006.
