Zoom adds some features to its desktop version that were already on iOS devices.
After the arrival of the pandemic, Zoom positioned itself in the preference of users.
The new version of Zoom is now available for users to download.
The desktop version of Zoom has been updated and now has some features that were already built into its version of iOS.
It is clear that today Zoom has earned an important place among Internet users after the arrival of the pandemicThus, through their technology, businesses and schools were able to survive one of the most chaotic periods in history.
In this sense, although it is true that Zoom already existed before the emergence of Covid-19, 2020 meant the ideal space for the platform to grow, reach more users and position itself as one of the most important video call sites in the market. .
However, now that the situation is considered more relaxed and normality begins to reach both schools and jobs, applications such as Zoom, Google Meet, among others, are no longer as necessary as they were a few months ago, although , yes, they are still very useful for meetings with other users who are thousands of kilometers away.
In addition, it must be taken into account that, in some cases, the work will continue with a hybrid scheme, since, as we have seen, the reality with Covid-19 can change at any time.
Zoom is updated and brings these new features
It is because of that Zoom continues to update and now, for its desktop version it has added functions that, in fact, could already be used on iOS devices. This is how gesture recognition arrives on the platform.
Starting today, with this new update, users will be able to raise their hand and the gesture will be recognized within the meeting as a way of taking the floor to participate. Similarly, the thumbs up is presented, which, when displayed on the webcam, will become an emoji.
Version 5.10.3 is now available for download, which also contains an improvement in the redesign of the Whiteboard, as well as the implementation of one-time passwords for those who did not activate the two-step verification, and in case a suspicious login is reported, the platform will send a different password by mail to access it.
Google Meet is also updated
Google Meet is also one of those platforms that served as a connecting hub for virtual meetings (whether for school classes, work meetings or meetings with friends) during the pandemic, and that recently released an update in order to stop those members of a meeting that are considered “disruptive”.
It is a tool with which these users can be silenced “forever”, this as a response to a long list of cases in which virtual meetings became a real chaos because of these “disruptive” Internet users.
The idea, of course, is to have better control of the platform and achieve greater fluidity in meetings.s, but it is probably still a strong measure, very similar to those actions that social networks like Facebook and Instagram have, to mention a few, when they block users for allegedly “violating” their rules regarding content .
