Zapping, the Chilean platform for live television transmission over the Internet, has announced improvements in its interface with greater speed and reliability of service thanks to the implementation of cloud solutions from Huawei, a world leader in information technology infrastructures and communication, which allowed it to reduce the latency of its interface from 120 to less than 40 milliseconds.
This translates into less delay when logging in, changing the channel or searching for programming information. “For us, the user experience is the most important thing; We are constantly looking for new ways to make a positive impact, and thanks to Huawei Cloud technology we are doing it”, stated the CEO and Founder of Zapping, Gustavo Morandé.
Technology for a better service
The main reason that led the online cable operator to opt for the Chinese technology company is that the cloud support is in Chile. Currently, Huawei Cloud has two local data centers with Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, which guarantees low latency and highly responsive support. This has allowed Zapping users to enjoy a better experience.
“Initially, we worked with another cloud that was not in Chile, so the latency that was added to our service to be consumed by our clients was too high,” said the CTO of Zapping, Ignacio Opazo.
With these improvements, the platform makes it possible to view high-demand events without crashing, positioning itself as an excellent option for sports lovers. Recently, the company was awarded the transmission of the 14 annual events of the LIV Golf circuit for 3 years, through its new channel Zapping Sports Golf. Now, Zapping hopes to further consolidate itself as the leader in live television transmission over the Internet in Chile and begin its growth in the global market. Its next destination is Brazil, where it bought Guigo TV, and it plans to operate using Huawei’s local cloud service in that country, as well as in its future expansion plans throughout the region.
“We want to continue working with Zapping to strengthen its service. We are already working on the construction of a third data center within the Chilean border with streaming capacity and Artificial Intelligence. In addition, our service extends to 1 Latin America, which allows us to accompany them in their internationalization plans, maintaining the low latency of their services”, highlighted the business director of Huawei Cloud Chile, Ricky You.
