Following the Made On YouTube event earlier this week, the platform unveiled a set of AI-powered capabilities that will help creators, emerging and established artists, create, edit and share content in bold new ways.
These AI-powered tools will help reveal powerful new forms of creativity, eliminate friction in the creative process, and allow YouTube creators to reach more viewers.
AI at the service of YouTube
To showcase the limitless potential that AI can bring to creators, artists and the creative industry, today’s key announcements include:
The introduction of Dream Screen:
a new generative AI feature to unlock creative expression in Shorts: Later this year, YouTube will introduce Dream Screen, a new experimental feature that allows creators to add AI-generated video backgrounds or images to their Shorts, simply by typing an idea in a command. With Dream Screen, creators will be able to generate new and fantastic scenarios for their Shorts in which the limit is their imagination.
Since launching in 2020, Shorts has surpassed 70 billion daily views from over 2 billion registered users each month.
The launch of YouTube Create:
To make video production easier: To help anyone create and share videos directly on YouTube. Today, the platform has launched a new app called YouTube Create, designed to empower creators to start creating with a set of production tools in order to edit their Shorts, longer videos, or both.
The app offers video tools such as precision editing and cropping, automatic subtitles, voiceover, as well as access to a library of filters, effects, transitions and royalty-free music, and includes synchronization technology so creators can Produce your next YouTube video without relying on complex editing software.
YouTube consulted more than 3,000 creators during the development process of YouTube Create. It is currently in beta on Android in markets such as the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, India, Korea and Singapore.
Plus, YouTube Create is free. Here are more ways YouTube is helping creators reduce their workload and giving them more efficient tools to generate new ideas and reach new audiences.
The platform is incorporating Aloud:
It is an AI-powered dubbing tool – so creators can easily reach audiences beyond their original language.
The feature is currently in testing in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and available to a select group of creators.
CreatorMusic:
Next year, assisted search in Creator Music will make it easier for creators to find the perfect soundtrack for their videos. Creators can simply perform a search and the AI will suggest royalty-free music that fits their needs.
Creator Music is currently available in the US, and we hope to expand it as soon as possible.
Other news:
Also next year, YouTube Studio will leverage generative AI to generate video ideas and draft wireframes to help creators generate ideas.
These insights are customized for each channel and based on what audiences are already watching and interested in. YouTube has been testing early versions of AI-powered tools in YouTube Studio with creators, and more than 70% of respondents said it has helped them develop and test ideas for their videos.
The vision of YouTube
Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, says: “Today we are sharing new updates that will help creators and artists push the limits of creative expression, making difficult things simple and impossible dreams possible.”
“Making it easier for creators everywhere to create the content they love is central to YouTube’s commitment to putting creative power in the hands of billions of people. Today is the beginning of a new era of creativity. We can’t wait to see what our amazing community of creators and artists will do on YouTube,” she added.
Lyor Cohen, global head of music at YouTube, said: “Bold and responsible, that’s our mission. The potential of AI is incredibly exciting. But as with any new technology, we must approach it responsibly. “What artists, composers and producers do is something uniquely human that cannot be replaced by technology.”
“We see AI as a tool that artists can use to amplify and accelerate their creativity. And we are committed to working together with the creative community within our AI Music Incubator, which has now expanded globally. “We are also leaning on our superpower: our deep bond with the music industry, constantly working with them to achieve our collective goals of fostering creativity and driving business,” he added.
Content creators

● Creator Jade Beason said: “I love efficiency. I’m really excited about AI-powered suggestions because they’re taking what I already do – searching the internet, looking at Google trends, taking suggestions from my audience – and giving me ideas for videos that I’m inspired to make and put my own into. seal”.
● Creator Cleo Abram said: “AI tools can help us minimize the gap between what we imagine and what we can, rather than shrinking our ideas. And by bridging that gap, these tools can increase access to the conversation.”
● Artist, songwriter and producer Charlie Puth said: “I’m thrilled to be part of the YouTube AI Music Incubator. “Generative AI is a powerful tool and I am grateful that YouTube is collaborating with artists in developing its technology to ensure it accelerates creativity rather than replacing it.” On this microsite you can download images.
