This same week Microsoft confirmed that Xbox Series X | S is the fastest selling console in the history of the brand, while the latest reports suggest that it would have already sold between 12 and 13 million units, so it would have shortened distances with PS5. Looking at the latest UK sales ranking, December 2021, the estimates do not seem unreasonable, since Xbox Series X beat PlayStation 5 and signs its best month in the UK.
As Chritopher Gring reports from GamesIndustryAccording to the latest GFK report on the British market, Xbox Series X | S was the second best-selling console in the UK in December 2021, second only to Nintendo Switch, which remains untouchable. It only took a 6% month-on-month growth for the Nintendo console to stay at the top of the charts, but Xbox Series X | S would have seen an incredible rise of 108% compared to the month of November. Enough to surpass its direct competition, PlayStation 5, despite the fact that the Sony console would have also grown by more than 25% compared to the previous month.
Xbox Series X and S has surpassed 1m sales in the UK. It was December’s second biggest platform (behind Switch) due to a 108% increase in sales over November. It was the biggest month so far for Xbox Series S / X in the UK, even beating its launch week.

Individual sales data for the month of December have not been provided, but Xbox Series X | S would have already placed more than a million units in the United Kingdom, Gring advances. Like Spain, the UK has traditionally had a reputation for being a deeply entrenched market for PlayStation, although this December data shows the great work Xbox has been doing in recent years.
