The reasons for apathy can be various. To begin with, the Mexican soccer team is in the 12th place in FIFA, far from the elite group and this is due to the poor results of the tricolor and of course I am not saying this, since I know little about the subject, but rather the statistics. : During 2022, 13 games have been played, with six wins, five draws and three losses, which represents 59 percent effectiveness and keeps fans in the doldrums and with little hope that “El tri”, played the long-awaited fifth game.
Of course, the lack of effectiveness is a good reason not to keep in mind that Mexico will be the host, finally four years will not change the results of decades and regardless of the fact that some games are held in the country, the Mexican representative will not have good results.
On the other hand, having a venue shared with two other such important countries may overshadow Mexican participation, although in terms of environment no one will beat us, the infrastructure of the stadiums, security and the opportunity to get to know the United States and Canada may downplay our beautiful country, especially for international travellers.
It is the first time that the World Cup will have three venues and in which 48 teams will fight to win the cup and as a tradition, the host country will automatically qualify for the cup, so the good news is that neither Mexico nor Canada and the United States will not have to play in the qualifiers, this factor can take pressure off the players (as they always pretext) and they can concentrate on the World Cup games.
In addition, in 2026, 80 games will be played, unlike the 64 that will be organized in Qatar; but, only 10 will take place in the country, in the venues arranged in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City, although they will be the least, the Mexican Soccer Federation calculates that the 10 games that Mexico will have will leave a spill of 500 million dollars and will generate thousands of jobs.
Mexico will make history and become the first country to host three World Cups, since it hosted the 1970 and 1986 tournaments, which also makes it the country with the most experience compared to its other two venues.
For marketing purposes the “sale” of the event must start from the first minute after the end of the World Cup in Qatar, first with countdown clocks, reports and a year before “will warm up” the square with innumerable mentions of the event and surely Mexico will seek to be on a par with the other two countries, giants, by the way, in every way.
