avatar 3 it approaches the public with a firm step and with a villain in command. After the overwhelming success at the box office that still holds Avatar: The Path of Water, few doubts remain about the continuation of the story. The real doubts that arise about the future of the franchise reside basically in its content and in the story.
Although James Cameron had already anticipated that the third film would feature antagonists from Pandora, little about the cast had been mentioned. Now, thanks to a new interview from producer Jon Landau, we even get to know which actress will turn the world of Pandora upside down.
Who will be the villain of Avatar 3?
Landau confirmed that the antagonistic group of the third installment will be a clan of Na’vi known in Pandora for their aggressiveness. Said people are associated with the fire of the planet because they live in volcanic territory and call themselves the Ash Peoplewhich translated into Spanish, would be something similar to “people of the ashes.”
The leader of that clan will be named Varang and will be played by Oona Chaplin, the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin and recognized above all for her participation in the series. Game of Thrones. The Spanish actress gave life in that series to Talisa Maegy, who survived during the second and third seasons of the series. She will be remembered for being the infamous wife -for others- of Robb Stark (Richard Madden).
To the surprise of many followers of Avatar this time the threat will not come from outside the planet Pandora. But as its aforementioned producer explains, in each breed there are good and bad people. So there is no reason to assume that all the blue aliens in the saga are all good. He explained it this way:
“There are good humans and there are bad humans,” Landau said. «It’s the same on the Na’vi side. Often people don’t see themselves as bad. What is the root cause of how they evolve towards what we perceive as bad? Perhaps there are other factors that we are not aware of.
Another detail confirmed by Landau is that after avatar 3 there will be a big time jump in the story to connect with the fourth installment. It will lead to avatar 5which will be partially set on Earth.
James Cameron already told in the past that the third installment is filmed in its entirety and a good part of the fourth installment as well. Being a saga that now has its two films in the top 5 of the highest grossing in history, it is clear that the plans to reach up to five films will continue ahead.
