When you want to withdraw cash at an ATM that is not from your bank or with which you do not have an alliance, the commissions can range from 10 to 40 pesos, depending on the financial institution, the location of the ATM and if it is inside a branch bank or in a commercial establishment.
How many ATMs are there in Mexico?
Until last January, there was a record of 61,138 ATMs in the country, according to data from the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV). There are six banks considered to be the largest in Mexico due to their importance in the financial system, in turn, they are the ones with the largest number of ATMs.
The leader is BBVA México, with more than 14,000 ATMs, followed by Banorte and Santander, which have more than 9,000 ATMs each.
What is the commission for cash withdrawal?
Although each bank has a fee range, the average for withdrawing money in another financial group is 30 pesos. Between the institutions that charge the lowest amount are inbursa (15 pesos), army ban (16 pesos) and the Wellness Bank (21 pesos), according to data from the Bank of Mexico (Banxico).
Among the banks that charge the highest commissions are multiva (up to 40 pesos), bansi (up to 35 pesos) and HSBC (up to 30.9 pesos).

How can I avoid paying fees when making cash withdrawals?
In addition to withdrawals without a card, which do not charge commission, there are also banks that have alliances with other institutions so that customers use their ATMs and do not pay to withdraw.
The most recent alliance was the one made by six banks: BanBajío, Banregio, HSBC, Inbursa, Mifel and Scotiabank . This agreement benefits 13.2 million customers.
The alliance allows customers to access a network of more than 9,000 ATMs.
