We already have winners of the Emmy Awards 2021, an edition very marked by titles, taking several awards in the most important categories. However, you may miss some of the winners, so this review of where you can watch in streaming the award-winning series at last night’s gala.
‘Lady’s gambit’
One of the great sensations of the end of last year, to the point that the popularity of chess skyrocketed. We will see what fruits that leaves, but what is clear is that this remarkable miniseries starring Anya Taylor-Joy swept through the public and ‘Lady’s Gambit’ could not leave empty today.
2 Emmys: best limited series and limited series steering
‘Halston’
Ewan McGregor immersed himself in the shoes of a famous designer who, in his own way, can be said to have died of success. The truth is that ‘Halston’ was not especially well received by critics when it was released, but it is a much more stimulating miniseries than what was said at the time, and much of the fault lies with the Scottish actor.
1 EmmyBest Leading Actor in a Limited Series
‘Mare of Easttown’
A detective from a small town in Pennsylvania has to investigate a murder and at the same time ensure that her personal life does not fall apart. ‘Mare os Easttown’ is an exciting miniseries that knows how to combine mystery with the everyday, counting on an excellent cast led by Kate Winslet.
3 Emmys– Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, Best Leading Actress in a Limited Series.
‘I could destroy you’
A tough miniseries about how the life of a young writer is completely transformed after suffering a sexual assault. Michaela Coel created and wrote all the episodes, being also the main protagonist of ‘Could destroy you’, a title that seemed doomed to be overshadowed by other proposals in these categories, but in the end it has not been the case.
1 EmmyBest Limited Series Screenplay
‘Ted Lasso’
One of the great sensations of last year was this series co-created and starring an outstanding Jason Sudeikis about a coach who decides to try his luck in a country and sport that are foreign to him. In ‘Ted Lasso’ everything seems to be against him, but it does not take long to win the affection of his teammates and also the public.
4 Emmys: Supporting Actress in a Comedy, Supporting Actor in a Comedy, Best Leading Actor in a Comedy and Comedy Series
‘The Crown’
The acclaimed historical series about the reign of Elizabeth II has long been one of the most prominent titles of Netflix originals. Created by Peter Morgan, little has mattered the changes of actors, ‘The Crown’ is a constant in all the lists of the best series of each year.
