How to receive an extraordinary bonus of 9%?
Workers who are on the payroll and within the private regime will have a full salary as a bonus and, additionally, EsSalud affiliates will receive an extraordinary bonus of 9%, according to the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL). While workers affiliated with a Health Provider Company (EPS), the extraordinary bonus will be 6.76%.
“In accordance with Law No. 27735, a rule that regulates the granting of bonuses and provided that the worker has worked the entire semester (January – June 2023). The term for the payment of this benefit expires on July 15, the same one that must appear in the electronic form. said Álvaro Gálvez, manager of the CCL Legal Center.
Not only that, the CCL pointed out that if the workers have worked a few months in said semester, the bonus will be equivalent to one sixth of salary for each month worked. However, if in a month the worker has unjustified absences, for each absence a thirtieth of the sixth to be received will be deducted.

According to Law No. 27735, it states that people who meet the following requirements are entitled to receive bonuses:
- All workers subject to private regime.
- In the case of workers in small companies, they are entitled to half a bonus (in July and December).
- Those workers who work under the agrarian regime.
- Workers of public entities under the labor regime of private activity.
When is the 2023 bonus paid?
The gratuity is an economic benefit that employers are obliged to deposit on National Holidays and Christmas parties, that is, twice a year. The Law of Gratuities also indicates that this benefit for workers must be paid, at the latest, until July 15. This means that private sector workers will receive their bonuses until Saturday July 15, as failure to do so could result in a large penalty for employers. The Christmas bonus must be made until December 15, 2023.
