WhatsApp has a new feature that is currently in its beta version and would soon reach all devices.
According to what WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing chat filters for users.
It should be noted that this function was already presented last year in WhatsApp Business.
This week the reactions with emojis arrived on WhatsApp and, now, the meta-owned platform has a new feature for iOS.
It is true that we are currently experiencing a great moment in the field of social networks to such an extent that it can be said that the market is saturated or, at least, is in the process of being saturated.
It is only necessary to remember the most recent report of We Are Social and Hootsuitewhich reveals that today, there are nearly five billion users connected to the webof which more than four thousand 500 are immersed in social networks.
Now, within the wide range of platforms that currently exist on the market, WhatsApp is one of the most popular and, in fact, occupies second place in the ranking of the most used social networks in the world with more than two one billion registered users, far surpassing what has been achieved by Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Skype, which are its main competition.
WhatsApp and a new feature for iOS
Let us remember that, throughout these weeks, WhatsApp, along with other social networks, continues to update in order to reach more users and continue to lead the marketin which, however, it seems to have no competition despite the growth of Telegram and others.
One of the recent and notorious was the inclusion of emoji reactions on the platform, one of which, apparently, has been well received by users.
However, the situation does not stop there, as WhatsApp seems to have a new function ready that would only be available for iOS devices and business accounts. Of course, the idea is to extend it to Android devices and its desktop version.
What is it about? According to what WABetaInfo reports, WhatsApp is testing chat filters for users, i.e. advanced search filters by means of which contacts, non-contacts, groups and unread messages could be found.
It should be noted that this function was already presented last year on WhatsApp Business, but everything indicates that it will arrive soon on all devices, although at the moment it is in its beta version and there is no specific date for its launch.
What is the competition doing?
With just over 500 million users, Telegram is the closest rival platform to WhatsApp, offering other types of experiences with which it intends to enter other markets.
A few weeks ago, it was announced that the social network is testing Telegram Premium with which users who are subscribed will have access to exclusive stickers and reactions. Plus, they’ll have exclusive features like custom animated emojis, larger payloads, and more customization tools.
It should be noted that, at the moment, the project is in its testing stage and only for iOS devices in the 8.7.2 update, which has also revealed some details of this new platform service.
Telegram’s intention is to begin to monetize its content and become a platform that goes beyond being an instant messaging service.
