What if Marvel suddenly takes on a tone similar to that of The Office? What if Captain America played basketball instead of saving the planet? What if Tony Stark, instead of running a tech empire, was responsible for a small office? These questions, perhaps, crossed the mind of the production of the next Marvel animated series and Disney Plus, What would happen if…?
This was announced by AC Bradley, the creator of What would happen if…? He explained it during an interview, delving into the meaning of the series. It must be remembered that, although this production will be based on the comics and the narrative developed through the Marvel Cinematic Universe, things will happen that will go beyond the logic constructed so far.
Because of the above, in particular, it generates so much interest. The first look, through a trailer, suggested a lot of variations. How will this influence the development of the chapters? Can you intuit possible future consequences from this? The last question seems the least feasible. But it is still curious to see how Marvel and Disney they explore terrain that they have not touched before.
The interesting revelation of AC Bradley, creator of ¿What would happen if…?
In statements offered to Slashfilm, the creator shared some of the ideas they had in relation to the conceptualization of the series. Thus he suggested some possibilities that they thought about and others that they discarded.
AC Bradley said, regarding What would happen if…?: “We play with different genres and with different narratives. We thought, ‘Should we make a heist movie?’ I think a discarded idea was, ‘Let’s do something along the lines of The Office‘”This comedy series starred Steve Carell and ran for nine seasons, from 2005 to 2013. It still has a cult following.
What would happen if…? will present different scenarios that could have occurred within the Marvel Cinematic Universe but did not occur. One of the new characters that will appear in this story is The Vigilante, played by Jeffrey Wright, who will narrate the events of the animated series without being able to take a position before them (although he could do so)
