At the end of 2020, Microsoft announced the arrival of EA Play to Xbox Game Pass, thus including more than 60 smash hits from Electronic Arts to the Redmond subscription service. After this great union, a lot of rumors suggested that the next alliance would be with Ubisoft. So to everyone’s “surprise”, earlier this year Microsoft announced the merger between Ubisoft and Xbox.
As the vast majority of you know, the subscription service of the renowned French company, Ubisoft +, will arrive on Xbox sooner rather than later, although we do not know if it will also be on Xbox Game Pass. At the moment, it seems unlikely that this will happen, at least in the near future, but like EA Play (which was integrated into Xbox for a while, before joining Game Pass) Ubisoft+ could end up doing it too. So now, among so many doubts that have arisen about this alliance between the Ubisoft and Xbox servicefrom the writing of SomosXbox we have asked ourselves, what can Ubisoft + bring to Xbox and Game Pass in the future?
What can Ubisoft+ bring to Xbox and Game Pass in the future?
The future arrival of Ubisoft+ on Xbox platforms translates into access to a library with more than 100 games, including launch titles such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising or Far Cry 6, among many others, without forgetting premium content and their monthly rewards. All this under a monthly payment of €14.99/month, which is the current plan for PC users, which will arrive very soon on Xbox, and it seems that it will also be on Game Pass.
Ubisoft+ included in Xbox Game Pass?
For now, the French company has confirmed that its subscription service will be completely independent of Xbox Game Pass, although in the very near future it could be included in said service, as happened with EA Play. There could also be the possibility of seeing both services together under a slightly more expensive monthly fee that includes Game Pass and Ubisoft +, a quite succulent combo, especially since Ubisoft is one of the companies that launches the most games on the market throughout a year.
Ubisoft + would join Xbox Game Pass officially at Gamescom
Although the well-known Video Games Chronicle journalist, Jordan Middler, has already commented that beyond what is officially known, he assures that Ubisoft+ is coming to Xbox Game Pass, although he does not know if it would be included as EA Play or as we have said before, under a pack with Game Pass for a higher price. Be that as it may, it is very interesting to know that at some point we could be enjoying both services and the large number of games that both offer, in addition to the launches added since day one. Without a doubt, Xbox Game Pass is one of the fundamental pillars of Xbox and its current successes, which could increase with future unions of great caliber such as that of Ubisoft + to Xbox and Game Pass.
The case of EA Play with Xbox and Game Pass
Electronic Arts also teamed up with Xbox at the time to bring its video game subscription service to Xbox. After testing the operation of the service on Xbox, those from Redmond reached an agreement with the American company to include EA Play in Xbox Game Pass. Leaving aside premium content, the entire EA Play catalog is available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass at no additional cost. So it would not be surprising that in time Ubisoft + could end up reaching Game Pass, thus enhancing Microsoft’s service considerably.
