After the last auction of television rights in relation to football in Spain and the LaLiga First Division, big changes are expected in the prices that users pay to enjoy this content. And in all this expectation to see what will happen, we have just learned that DAZN has doubled the prices of its services in another of its main markets: Germany.
This means increasing their prices by 100%, although those who contract the service for a whole year have a discount. Specifically, the price of DAZN in Germany is now €14.99 per month and €149.99 per year. With the new ad, it will cost (if not renewed before June) 24.99 euros per month if a full year is contracted, 29.99 euros per month if paid month by month, and 275 euros for the whole year.

The complaints of the clients have not been long in coming: they will have to pay double for the same service since DAZN has not added extra content nor has it announced that it intends to do so. To these complaints, the company has said that “our plan was to start the season with a very low price to give fans the opportunity to get to know DAZN. This price adjustment allows DAZN cover rising royalty costs, the content and, therefore, the real value of our offer”.

A possible increase in Spain
After it was announced in December that the possibility of sharing a DAZN account with friends was ending, which closed the door to the option of paying less to watch LaLiga, MotoGP and Formula 1, yesterday a possible rise in the price of the fee for this platform.
The disbursement that this platform has made to obtain the rights to certain LaLiga matches in an auction seems to be that they are going to be assumed by the spectators. According to El Independiente, DAZN plans a price increase in September, although LaLiga starts on August 12. From the middle they speak of a rise of between 30% and 40% compared to its current price of 9.99 euros.
It must be remembered that in the next season 2022/2023 it will be the first time that Movistar+ must share the rights of soccer, although it will have priority to choose the first of the two in the five matches of each day that correspond to it (plus three days in which the operator keeps everything). DAZN could face a series of measures to cover this expense.
