When we talk about ghost movies, we don’t just mean the horror genre. Over the years, the supernatural elements They have been a great resource for presenting funny and emotional situations such as what happens in “We Have a Ghost” (“We Have a Ghost” in the original title). 10. “The ghosts of my ex” (2009)

“Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” is the rom-com version of “A Christmas Carol” where Matthew McConaughey plays a heartbreaking bachelor who must confront his past relationships when his late Uncle Wayne (Michael Douglas) is presented to him.

9. “Monster House: The House of Frights” (2006)

“Monster House: The House of Frights” is an animated movie that perfectly balances the paranormal aspects with comedy. The story revolves around a group of children who are in constant friction with their grumpy neighbor Nebbercracker (Steve Buscemi), who never allows them onto his property. When they indirectly cause the man to end up in the hospital, they begin to receive strange calls and realize that he was hiding more than he thought in his house.

8. “Scooby-Doo” (2002)

We can’t talk about ghosts, paranormal elements and comedy without mentioning “Scooby Doo”. Technically, the first live-action movie focuses mainly on the group of young detectives revealing the secret behind the monsters at the amusement park. However, the story starts with the group solving a case with a supposed ghost. Anyway, it’s a lot of fun.

7. “Spirited Away” (2001)

“Spirited Away” (“Chihiro no Kamikakushi” in its original language) is definitely fraught with the spooky factor, even though they are portrayed as spirits. Although it does not handle the same humor as the Hollywood style, Hayao Miyazaki’s master tape is a tender and visually striking work. The story revolves around a girl named Chihiro, who finds herself trapped in the spirit world during her moving process. She must discover the secrets of this reality in order to free herself and save her parents.

6. “Beetlejuice, the super ghost” (1988)

“Beetlejuice” is one of the most iconic supernatural comedies, not only because of Tim Burton’s directing touch, but also because of its spooky and funny story. The plot follows a young newlywed couple who find themselves trapped in their home after drowning. Unable to get the family away, they turn to Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) to drive them away.

5. “Ghostbusters” (1984)

Of course, “Ghostbusters” (“Ghostbusters” originally) should be on the list as it marks a milestone in Hollywood cinema and pop culture. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) and his group are hired to deal, like exterminators, with special pests. Although they do not have to deal with cockroaches or termites, but with ghosts and demons.

“Coco” revolves around Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez), a twelve-year-old boy who is accidentally transported to the world of the dead, where he seeks help to find his deceased musician great-great-grandfather so he can return to his family from the living. However, in the process, he will discover something important about his ancestry and the man he admires.

2. “The Frighteners” (1996)

“The Frighteners” follows Frank Bannister (played by Michael J. Fox), who has the uncanny ability to see spirits and boasts of this ability by presenting himself as an expert exorcist. In reality, he works alongside the spirits to lie and scam people out of their money. However, when a number of real deaths start piling up in a small town, he’ll have to find out what’s really going on.

“Casper” is the live-action adaptation of the classic friendly ghost and the friendship he develops with Kat (Christina Ricci), the girl in the family who moves into the mansion she lives in to solve the mystery that ties them to the place.
