The indices in Mexico also registered falls close to 1%. The main index of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) closed with a drop of 1.17%, remaining at a level of 53,407.70 points, while the FTSE BIVA of the Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA) decreased 1.14%, to 1,103.23 units.
The shares that grew the most during the session were Aleatica, with 3.92%; Santa Fe Hotel Group, 3.85%; Axtel, 2.03% and Vinte, 1.81%. In the opposite direction, Banco Santander decreased 5.65%; Frisco Mining, 5.45%; Cemex, 4.62% and Grupo Gicsa, 4.44%.
“While the June decision to hold the rate unchanged was unanimous, the minutes show that some thought it would be better to continue the increases so consensus agreed to resume them in July. In response, the market now assigns an 89% probability of a increase in July and 92% of an increase in September”, Actinver analysts indicated.
