If you are one of the lucky ones who already have one Steam Deck in your possession, surely you have already been able to experience, in some cases, Valve’s portable joystick drift problems. Apparently, several users had reported this problem that affects practically all devices, the most striking being the case of Nintendo Switch.
Well, it seems that Gabe Newell’s company has already found a way to solve the blissful drift problem on Steam Deck. Valve’s designer, Lawrence Yanghas commented in a tweet that they are aware of the aforementioned problem and that they have implemented a patch to remedy it as soon as possible. “Hi everyone, a quick note about the Steam Deck joysticks. The team has looked into the reported issues and turned out it was a deadzone regression from a recent firmware update. We just sent a solution to fix the errorso make sure you’re up to date,” says Yang himself in the tweet that we leave you just below these lines.

As stated in the tweet above, the problem appears to have been an earlier update to the Steam Deck itselfso with this revision it seems that drift has been fixed on Valve’s machine. In addition, many users of the social network have been very happy with the company’s quick response and solution. Many others did not miss the opportunity to compare the situation with the drift of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con.
